Vineyard location: Terraced vineyards on lava sands, located between 700 and 730 m a.s.l. implanted in 1976 – facing south, southwest.
Training system: sapling adapted to espalier
Pruning: short with spurs
Grapes: pure Nerello Mascalese
Harvest: First ten days of October (starting from 5 October, feast of San Placido)
Unit yield: 5,500 kg per hectare
Vinification: maceration in concrete tanks. Short-lasting pumping over to extract the best from the skins. Maturation in wood for 12 months and refinement in the bottle for 8 – 10 months
Alcohol content: 14.5% vol.
